This video makes me want this game.
An addiction has started
I’ve been stuck on Archeage and am thoroughly enjoying this game. It has been awhile since I’ve been addicted to a game. If you are playing, I moved to the server Enla and my character is still named Louve for anyone that wants to run around the game and do trade runs. :)
Good news!!! Hah! I get to be back home and finally! Finally get to be part of the Archeage head start! In accordance to celebration, here is a pirate rat that came aboard my boat in Newport.
What’s the point of having the head start for Archeage if work is going to tell me “NO!” -_- sadface.

Destiny came out today! The question to me is: Is it worth buying a ps4 for? It is an open world, always online, first-person action shooter that is not being called an “MMO” by its creators: Bungie and Activision. Instead it is being referred to as a ‘share world shooter’. What does that mean? Well instead of being to see all the players in your open world, you play through the game and get inserted in instance matchmaking with other players.
Destiny’s storyline is as follows: Some time after the present day a large construct known as The Traveler came and started a Golden Age for technology. Humans expanded and eventually fell victim to the cataclysm known as The Darkness. Survivors went below to develop The City and now you, the player, are part of the army of Guardians that help protect the city from aliens striking all over the place!
Now I wouldn’t be too amped on this story, however it is made from Halo’s creators Bungie sooo maybe I’ll think there is A LOT more than just aliens attacking humans again.
Within Destiny there are free roaming areas in which other players will appear before you and then can be asked to join your fire team. 3 on a team for regular missions and 6 on a team for raids. You are allowed to invite anyone, it doesn’t matter how far a long they are in the story, so that’s a plus in my book.
There is also some fun PVP style game modes including, but not limited to, deathmatch and skirmish.
There are three different races: Exo, Awoken, Human. Now choosing any race, color and all customization is all simply cosmetic, which is something I never sure I enjoy all that much. I’ve been known to enjoy certain racial benefits and also sometimes don’t care for them, it simply depends on the game, but I digress.
The three classes within this game are Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. Essentially (in same order) Rogue, Warrior, Mage. However each class contains two subclasses allowing for more variability for players. Each subclass contains a specific collection of grenades, abilities, weapon specialties and upgrades.
Players are free to enter and leave worlds using their Jumpship which acts a mobile home base and can also act as a vault for storage. You’re able to sell and trade while in your Jumpship and can be upgraded/customized.
So far the game looks beautiful. Is it worth buying a Ps4 for? For me? Maybe not….maybe…then again I am one to buy the Ps4 for Kingdom Hearts so who knows if my opinion is one to take with a grain of salt or not. If you’re really into a futuristic, apocalyptic, cryptic, optimistic, shooter-istic? (K, I’ll stop) then I would say definitely check this game out. For myself, I am not sold on buying it since I don’t have the Ps4. I know there is a bundle but….eh…still not sure yet. Maybe I am just a frugal butt.
Ever just stop caring about physics and decide, “Screw it! I’m going to fly!” Yeh, me too.
Thoughts on Archeage PT. 2
A few points of info first:
- Archeage headstart is from Sept. 12 -16.
- Release date is Sept. 16
- Everything from the beta will be wiped. However, for those who have credits and used them, those credits will be replenished (phew!)
So I was late to the crafting aspect of the game. D: If possible when you start, get into crafting as soon as possible! Any item you can gather. You don’t need a pickaxe or a gathering knife, etc. The rewards for the trade quests are a good amount xp and also a good amount of gold. My first one gave me 4g which was really nice since I was a poor kitty cat (I became an impulse shopper…don’t judge me. The glider was worth it!) Speaking of the glider, I had mentioned I bought the founder’s pack awhile and considering I feel this game is going to be one I am going to be playing for awhile, it was very much worth it. I decided to use the credits I was given considering they are going to be replenished when the game actually starts and damn! You can get some cool stuffs! The glider is very much worth it imo. It really changed the ways of travel and not to mention it allows you to attack while gliding! I bought the pet armor and while I noticed a difference, it…wasn’t something to be too excited about. I mean it helped but meh. I was fine without it. All the other items are consumables that I didn’t really see too much of a benefit (yet).
I am still figuring out my class mixture, so far I have been happy with Hellweaver (battlerage, sorcery, shadowplay) and using a 2-hander and wearing plate armor. I am at the point in the game where it seems the quests (main ones) are said to die down, whether or not that is true I have yet to find out. However, I have come to realize that finishing an area’s quests before moving on has been something I failed to do. Most quests in this game give XP and money (egh…fine..I’ll kill your stupid crab feets). However! Some give armor, weapons, battle pets and even means of transportation! I MISSED THE ROWBOAT! Dx HOW!?! Agh…oh well. Anyway, finish your quests ladies and gentlemen, it will definitely be worth it.
Quick note: I received a battle pet from a quest and wasn’t too impressed. The game doesn’t allow you to have your mount and battle pet out at the same time and so imo I feel it is better just to keep your mount out. The battle pets do a decent amount of damage but the one I received was nothing in comparison to let’s say…a hunter’s pet in WoW. It could be just the pet I received so who knows.
I am going to continue to give more posts about my gaming experience. So far, I really like this game and I am usually very picky about mmo’s. Take that for what you will. I hope to see you guys ingame!
- Get crafting and gathering as soon as possible
- Paying for this game is worth it imo
- Finish quests in all regions
- Battle pets are meh.
Archeage Beta is back!
The Beta is back on from sept. 4 till sept. 8! I will be playing this time FINALLY since I am home and back from sail! Come join me! I’m on the Kyrios server. character name: Louve I’ll definitely be posting what I can about my gaming experience and more info on the game itself. Feel free to ask questions about classes, trade and any other inquiries that cross your mind! See you in game!
So I got sent back out to sail to LA harbor for the LA Tallships Festival and we’re currently motoring in circles staring at the largest rubber duck ever. Lol good times
A little experiment
For me, when I create a character on any MMO I tend to make the character look somewhat like myself. So I invited a friend over and had them create their own. Each character that would be created, we decided, would be how we view the other. So here are the results:
This one my friend made of me.
This one I made of myself.
This one she made of herself.
This one I made of her.
These are all from FF14: A Realm Reborn. (The MMO I am currently playing until ArcheAge comes out again).
I am curious has to what you all base your character creation on. Do you base it off your actual self or off some parts of you? Send some pics!
BTW: This is what we actually look like (This is honestly the normalist pic I have of us xD)
